Vintage Cottage Tea Set, Maruto Mu, Occupied Japan, 1940s


The teapot measures approximately 6 1/2" high, 9" long and 5" wide.
The creamer measures approximately 3" high, 2 3/4" wide
The sugar bowl measures approximately 4 1/4" with the lid on, and 3 1/4" wide.

The teapot is in good condition with no cracks or breaks, however there are 2 very small chips on the end of the spout. The creamer is in good condition with no cracks or breaks, however it has a slight chip on the edge of the spout and nick from the brown paint on the edge of one of the windows. The sugar bowl has a break on the underside of the lip that can't be seen with the top on. There is crazing on the inside of each piece due to age and use. The price has been adjusted. This tea set is very fragile and will be shipped separately from other items. Each piece is boxed separately and then placed in a bigger box to protect this beautiful tea set during shipping

Vintage Cottage Ware Tea Set by Maruto Mu 1940's Occupied Japan. This is a hand painted cottage tea set with a thatched roof and brick pattern made in Occupied Japan. The bottom of each piece is marked "MADE IN OCCUPIED JAPAN" and a "T" IN A CIRCLE.

If you feel the item you received is "not as described" in the original listing, please email us with a photograph of the item you received: Once we review the photograph and determine the item is not as listed we will instruct you to: Mail the item back to us in the original box with all included packing material, within 10 days of receiving your item and we will issue a full refund via Etsy.

If the item is damaged due to shipping: For all glassware items, please send photographs of the item, packing material and shipping container within 10 days of receiving the item. We must have these photos to file a claim with the shipping carrier. For all other items, please send the item back in the original packing material and box. Once we receive the photographs, or item, we will issue a full refund via Etsy.

For an item you just don't really want any more: Please send the item back in it's original condition (how we sent it to you), with tracking information, and we will issue a refund on the purchase price less shipping costs.

For item(s) returned to us as non deliverable: We will issue a refund on the purchase price less shipping costs.


All of our items are vintage or antique and are at least 20 years old. Due to the nature of the items we sell there will be signs of wear and in some cases damage.
