Hard to find Sterling Pottery Company Water Pitcher, Acanthus Pattern From The 1950's Made In England.

Established as the Sterling Pottery Co. The predecessor of Sterling Pottery Ltd. The company produced low to mid-priced tea and coffee sets, general and novelty tableware and small toby character jugs. Recorded in the 1947 Pottery Gazette & Glass Trade Review Reference Book Directory. The company became part of the Lawley Group following its purchase by Ridgway (Bedford Works) Ltd. in 1950.

This pitcher measures 10" high, 3 1/2" at the top from edge to the spout and 5" wide at it's base and weighs in at around 2 pounds.

This pitcher is in really good condition. No cracks, breaks or chips. Pitcher does have crazing throughout. This item is vintage and may have some very minor pits and dings that we did not catch. If you feel the item you received is "not as described" in the original listing, please email us with a photograph of the item you received: Once we review the photograph and determine the item is not as listed we will instruct you to: Mail the item back to us in the original box with all included packing material, within 10 days of receiving your item and we will issue a full refund via Etsy.

If the item is damaged due to shipping: For all glassware items, please send photographs of the item, packing material and shipping container within 10 days of receiving the item. We must have these photos to file a claim with the shipping carrier. For all other items, please send the item back in the original packing material and box. Once we receive the photographs, or item, we will issue a full refund via Etsy.

For an item you just don't really want any more: Please send the item back in it's original condition (how we sent it to you), with tracking information, and we will issue a refund on the purchase price less shipping costs.

For item(s) returned to us as non deliverable: We will issue a refund on the purchase price less shipping costs.


All of our items are vintage or antique and are at least 20 years old. Due to the nature of the items we sell there will be signs of wear and in some cases damage.
